Evaluation of FiberMat Surface Treatment on US 301 in Sussex County

About the project:

This study will evaluate the benefits of using a FiberMat membrane as a surface treatment on an asphalt concrete pavement compared to a latex modified surface treatment. The study involves field evaluations of the treatments on US 301 in Sussex County and evaluations of core specimens removed from the pavement for permeability and fatigue resistance under simulated trafficking using the model mobile load simulator.Preliminary work will involve laboratory evaluations of latex modified surface treatments and chip seals subjected to simulated traffic loading.
