Litter Survey: Status Report 3

Report No: 80-R50

Published in 1980

About the report:

This memorandum is intended to serve as the third status report for the litter survey work being performed by the research Council for the Division of Litter Control. The memorandum discusses the results obtained in the fourth series of litter pickups, which were performed during October, November, and December of 1979, in comparison with results obtained in the first three series of litter pickups that were discussed in Status Report 2.

The rate of litter accumulation for the 18 sites included in this analysis is decreasing from series to series. As one would expect, the rate of decrease appears to be declining as the actual numbers of items per day of litter discarded at the sites become lower.
