About the project:

The purpose of this study is to make a contribution to improving the coordination of land use and transportation planning in Virginia. Considerable attention will be devoted to describing and assessing the coordination of land use and transportation planning in several states. The policies and practices of these states that are concerned with land use and transportation planning will be examined to determine whether they contribute to the success of their coordination policies or whether they are a hindrance to them. One of the critical goals of this study is to develop an understanding of the way different attitudes and approaches to land use planning and transportation planning affect the approach to the coordination of land use and transportation planning.
