The report presents the findings of a survey on the use of video technology in the transportation industry. A search of transportation related publications was performed, and all state transportation departments were asked how videotape was being used to enhance operations. The study revealed that videotape was being used for training, the documentation of research, and traffic studies. Several departments had replaced photolog systems with videolog systems using tape convertible to video laser discs.
