Virginia's Relocation Experience: A Look at the Districts

Report No: 76-R52

Published in 1976

About the report:

A survey of individuals relocated by the Department due to the acquisition of right-of-way for highway construction was made in each of the eight construction districts. Also, a statewide statistical summary of results and of respondent characteristics was compiled. For each district the socioeconomic profile of respondent households was prepared. Survey responses were categorized in five areas: initial feeling about impending move; attitude toward the program, department, and department personnel; comparability of housing and neighborhood; adequacy of payments; and relative ease of move.
