Nuclear Field Density Problems

Report No: 75-R46

Published in 1975

About the report:

The densities of subgrade soil at various locations throughout the state were determined using the different model nuclear gages owned by the Department. In addition, some laboratory testing and sand cote testing were carried out. It was concluded that the direct transmission-standard mode of nuclear density determination could replace the presently used air gap-direct transmission mode. A recommendation covering this improvement is made to the Department.
