Flash Tracking for Accelerated Project Delivery - Phase I

About the project:

The Construction Industry Institute recently funded Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech to develop essential practices for the successful implementation of a quicker project-delivery process called “Flash Tracking.”

Because it is a time-driven method, Flash Track, by necessity, requires a heightened degree of concurrency between an agency’s engineering, procurement and construction functions.

The purpose of this project will be to determine how the use of Flash Tracking can improve the Virginia Department of Transportation’s performance on accelerated project delivery on several major projects.
