Development of a Travel Time Data Collection Plan for the Virginia Department of Transportation

About the project:

In order to best support System Operations, VDOT has made the strategic decision to invest in the ability to collect travel time data.  In order to ensure that the investment provides the maximum return, it is essential that VDOT establish clear requirements for the data including quality, availability, coverage (spatial and temporal), data usage restrictions, data source stability, and acceptable cost.  The purpose of this project is to develop a travel time data collection plan that will provide VDOT with concrete actions to take in order to acquire statewide travel time data.
