About the project:

The purpose of this study is to conduct a detailed analysis of crashes on high risk locations of multi-lane primary highways.  The specific objectives are:

(i) Identify the major causal factors for crashes on multi-lane primary roads
(ii) Develop appropriate equation relating crashes to the causal factors identified and
(iii) Develop appropriate countermeasures 

The scope of this research will be limited to:
•  Multi-lane primary highways in Virginia
•  Locations with high crash rates
