Adoption of AASHTO Rut Test Procedure Using the APA

About the project:

The purpose of this investigation is to substitute the draft AASHTO rut test procedure for the current VDOT rut test procedure using the Asphalt Pavement Analyzer (APA). One phase will be to determine the relation between results produced by the two procedures. The second phase will be to test field mixes in the lab and field performance to establish lab rutting criteria. Reliable rutting criteria will allow the optimization of mixture properties to achieve maximum durability.
