Research needs statements

The Virginia Transportation Research Council (VTRC) periodically posts Research Needs Statements (RNS) on this site for review and response by our university partners in Virginia. When new research needs are identified, details will be posted here and an email notification will be sent to members of the RNS mailing list.

To join the RNS mailing list please send your name, university affiliation, and email address to Bill.Kelsh@VDOT.Virginia.gov indicating your interest in participating in our program. For eligibility requirements and additional details, refer to the documents listed below.

Please download and review the  VTRC University RNS Contract Participation Guidance document for information on eligibility and participation. In addition, each Expression of Interest (EOI) must include two required forms: EOI Schedule Template and  EOI Budget Template.
